The celebrity who officiated Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez’s wedding might surprise you
The couple tied the knot in Santa Barbara in September 2025
Benny Blanco has revealed that longtime friend and collaborator Lil Dicky officiated his wedding to Selena Gomez, offering a rare glimpse into the couple’s ultra-private ceremony.
Blanco, 37, shared the detail during a Feb. 26 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! while promoting his podcast Friends Keep Secrets.
He and Gomez, 33, tied the knot on Sept. 27, 2025, in Santa Barbara, California, and have largely kept the celebration out of the public eye.
“We were heavily involved [in each other’s weddings],” Lil Dicky — born David Burd explained on the show, noting that while they didn’t each have a best man, he officiated Blanco’s ceremony and later received a speech from Blanco at his own wedding. “It was great.”
Blanco echoed the praise, calling the officiant speech “incredible” and “unbelievable.”
As the pair prepared for the ceremony, however, Gomez made one specific request.
Blanco recalled that she asked him to ensure parts of Burd’s speech didn’t overlap with her vows.
“She said, ‘Hey, just make sure Dave doesn’t say anything about this part or this part because it’s part of my speech,’” Blanco shared, joking that it accounted for the first few minutes of Burd’s remarks. “And that was the whole opening three minutes of his speech.”
“I wanted to push back, but it was her wedding,” Burd quipped.
Despite the last-minute edits, the speech ultimately “turned out great,” Burd said, adding that he was proud of the final result.
Blanco did not officiate Burd’s wedding to Kristin Batalucco, but he delivered a speech at the reception, attending with Gomez as his date.
The “Calm Down” singer later shared PDA-filled photos from the oceanside celebration on Instagram.
A source previously told People that Gomez and Blanco curated an intimate evening filled with warmth and celebration.
“There was so much love in the room,” the insider said, adding that the newlyweds were “glowing all night” and “couldn’t stop smiling” as guests partied well into the evening.
