At least nine people were injured early Sunday morning during a mass shooting at a Cincinnati music venue, authorities reported.

The incident occurred at Riverfront Live while a birthday celebration was underway.

Police were alerted around 1 a.m. local time to reports of “multiple shots fired” at 4343 Kellogg Avenue.

Responding officers found nine victims who were quickly transported to UC Medical Center and Good Samaritan Hospital. Officials said all sustained non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to recover.

Witnesses described chaos during the shooting. One attendee said the violence erupted following an altercation involving several people.

“Around 15 minutes later, I saw three dudes come from the back and shoot the club up and ran out the way they came in,” the witness told Fox19 Cincinnati.

Angel Potts, mother of one of the victims, recounted her 25-year-old daughter’s harrowing escape. “She was leaving the bathroom…then she just dropped down and some of them went running.

She ran toward the door, jumped the fence, and got to a nearby store,” Potts said. She also criticized the venue’s security measures, noting her daughter was frisked at the entrance and assumed she was safe.

Cincinnati Police Interim Chief Adam Hennie described the shooting as an isolated incident. No suspects have been publicly identified, and authorities say the public is no longer in danger.

The birthday celebration, which began around 10 p.m. on Saturday, was disrupted by the shooting, leaving attendees in shock.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances and are asking anyone with information to come forward.

The incident underscores ongoing concerns about security at nightlife venues and the potential for gun violence even in events that appear well-supervised.
