Vivo made a rare but spectacular appearance at MWC this year, shaking up the mobile world by unveiling its latest flagship, the X300 Ultra.

Breaking with tradition, the company confirmed that this powerful handset will be the first of its "Ultra" series to be sold outside China.

While many specifications remain under wraps, Vivo did reveal one "concrete detail" that will surely excite photography fans: the device will feature a 200-megapixel telephoto camera, carrying on the impressive legacy of its predecessor.

The star of the show wasn't just the phone, but its professional-grade accessories. To push the boundaries of mobile zoom, Vivo introduced the Telephoto Extender Gen2 Ultra.

Co-engineered with Zeiss, this optional lens jumps from a 200mm equivalent focal length to a massive 400mm.

It is visibly "thicker and heftier" than the previous version, signalling a serious leap in hardware. Additionally, a new "pro-grade" camera cage, developed with SmallRig, aims to turn the smartphone into a genuine tool for videographers, featuring cold shoe mounts, physical controls, and even a dedicated cooling fan.

This strategic move suggests Vivo is no longer content with being a niche enthusiast brand; it is now pitching the X300 Ultra as a "true productivity tool" for professionals.

Although a release in "global markets" is promised for later this year, it is still unclear exactly which countries will make the cut.

Regardless, the X300 Ultra is shaping up to be the most ambitious camera phone the global market has seen in years.
