Sarah Pidgeon channels 1930s elegance at 2026 Actor Awards
Sarah Pidgeon discussed legacy of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s tailored style
Sarah Pidgeon turned heads at the 2026 Actor Awards by trading her character’s signature minimalism for high-fashion drama.
The 29-year-old actress, currently starring as Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy in Love Story, arrived in a striking baby pink strapless gown featuring a voluminous mermaid silhouette.
While her recent press tour saw her perfectly mimicking Carolyn’s "effortless cool" with tailored Prada and Yohji Yamamoto pieces, this red carpet appearance allowed Pidgeon to showcase her own glamorous flair.
The ceremony, now officially rebranded as the Actor Awards, introduced a strict "Reimagining Hollywood Glamour from the ’20s and ’30s" dress code.
Pidgeon’s sculptural look, paired with Rahaminov diamonds and a sleek low ponytail, hit the mark for "bold expression" and cinematic elegance.
Reflecting on her role, Pidgeon previously noted how costumes were vital to her performance. Regarding the late fashion publicist’s private nature, she shared: "I think understanding — or at least my interpretation of her relation to the press — she was fiercely private, so I think it made so much sense, and you could feel it when you put the clothes on."
Beyond the aesthetic, Pidgeon explained that Carolyn’s wardrobe acted as a shield against the intense public scrutiny of the 1990s.
"It makes you stand in a different way, and it sort of holds you in and protects you," she told PEOPLE.
As Love Story continues to spark a revival in Nineties "quiet luxury," Pidgeon is proving she is a style icon in her own right, expertly balancing historical homage with modern-day stardom.
