Daniel Radcliffe recalls how he would once "fuel his days with coffee and cigarettes" but has since quit smoking, now being very serious about staying fit.

“I engage in weight lifting, circuit routines, and cardio. I might not seem like the typical fitness lover, yet I’m really dedicated to it,” The Harry Potter star, 36, shares with WSJ.

“I feel as though I’m the typical example of someone with a former addiction who has now poured that energy into gym life.”

The entertainer — who works alongside Tracy Morgan in the NBC comedy The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins — first acknowledged his sobriety in 2012 and later described drinking as “the simplest way to avoid feeling self-conscious.”

As he confided to WSJ.Magazine, “There was a time I would rely solely on coffee and cigarettes throughout my day; I eventually quit smoking. Now my days are powered entirely by coffee.”

He's also begun waking up early—thanks to his two-year-old son, whom he proudly shares with his long-term partner Erin Darke.

“With a toddler at home, my internal clock now has me awake around 5:30. My son’s nightlight is programmed to switch color at a designated time, so by 6:30, it changes from blue to yellow, and I’m greeted with his excited shout, ‘It’s yellow, COME GET ME!’ “ Radcliffe mentioned.

Despite being candid about his past with alcohol, Radcliffe — along with his fellow Harry Potter cast members, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson — have mostly managed to avoid the drama-filled situations that other former child stars face.

Many see “the Harry Potter stars collectively as a prime example that, yes, things can turn out positively, and indeed it is true … we all put in a lot of effort to ensure it was so.

Personally, I’d prefer my son not to pursue acting or seek fame,” he shared with the media.

“I fully grasp how challenging that path can be—I believe that growing up on a Harry Potter set in the UK offered a different experience. The [consistent] crew was mostly unchanged for a decade, meaning we were surrounded by people who genuinely cared. Plus, I was fortunate with my parents. They perfectly balanced appreciating the uniqueness of our situation while also recognizing its peculiar aspects.”
