Google Home's head, Anish Kattukaran, shared several enhancements to the smart home platform, addressing a host of minor annoyances and quirks. One exciting new feature is the debut of “Live Search” for your cameras.

This upgrade allows Gemini not only to recall past events but also to comprehend what’s currently happening on your live camera feeds.

For example, you can inquire, “Hey Google, do we have a vehicle parked outside?” To access Live Search, you’ll need a subscription to the Advanced plan of Google Home Premium, available at $20 per month or $200 annually.

Gemini for Home now features updated models, enhancing the precision of responses to general inquiries and improving the playback quality of newly-released tracks.

Gemini's improved understanding of context will better align with smart device commands.

For instance, saying “turn off the kitchen” will now only affect the lights in that specific room, rather than all smart devices.

Likewise, when you instruct “turn off all the lights,” it will apply to your present location rather than targeting lights in another place, like a vacation home or a parent’s house, that you also supervise.
