Adolescence’s Stephen Graham criticises tardiness among Hollywood actors
Stephen Graham has criticised 'disrespectful' A-list celebrities for arriving late to set in a recent outburst
Stephen Graham has expressed his frustration with "disrespectful" A-list celebrities who arrive late to filming in a recent outburst.
The 52-year-old star of "Adolescence" is in the midst of awards season, where his Netflix series has garnered numerous accolades.
Gaining prominence two decades ago, the actor from Merseyside has witnessed a full spectrum of on-set experiences.
From these experiences, Stephen has identified behavior he finds unacceptable.
"Many actors don't show up on time," he admitted this week, as reported by MailOnline.
Labeling this behaviour as "disgusting," he further stated, "It's extremely disrespectful.
"Leaving a crew, who have been there before you and will stay longer than you, waiting because you see yourself as a significant figure is unacceptable… it’s simply improper behavior."
The specific actors Stephen referred to have not been identified.
Last month, Stephen secured the Best Actor in a mini-series award at the Golden Globe ceremony.
He was again nominated for the accolade at this weekend’s Actor Awards – previously known as the SAG Awards.
However, he was surpassed by co-star and protégé Owen Cooper, who made history as the youngest recipient of the award.
"Adolescence" was created by Stephen alongside co-writer Jack Thorne, with Stephen also acting in the series as Owen's on-screen father.
The captivating narrative follows 13-year-old Jamie (portrayed by Owen), who is detained after fatally stabbing a female classmate, a crime greatly influenced by online misogyny.
This teenage crime drama amassed 140 million views within its first three months on Netflix.
