Brooklyn Beckham felt disheartened” after his parents, Sir David and Lady Victoria Beckham, shared public posts celebrating his 27th birthday—weeks after he criticized what he called “performative social media” in a highly publicized statement.

The 27-year-old photographer and entrepreneur celebrated his birthday on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, while his famous parents and younger brothers Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 21, took to Instagram with birthday messages.

A source told Entertainment Tonight: “Brooklyn and Nicola [Peltz] are disheartened they chose to make public Instagram posts for his birthday.

These are the exact type of performative public actions that Brooklyn has been trying to put an end to, to no avail.”

David Beckham shared two childhood photos of Brooklyn, captioning them with the longtime nickname he has used for his son.

“27 today. Happy Birthday Bust. We love you x.” Minutes later, Victoria Beckham posted the same photo alongside another image of herself laughing with Brooklyn, writing: “Happy birthday Brooklyn, we love you so much.”

Romeo Beckham posted a throwback of himself with Brooklyn, while Cruz Beckham shared a childhood photo with the simple caption: “I love you.”

The public tributes arrive in the wake of Brooklyn’s six-page Instagram post in January, in which he accused his parents of prioritizing public image over private relationships and interfering in his marriage.

He also called out what he described as a lifetime of “performative social media posts, family events, and inauthentic relationships.”

The family dispute has largely played out in public. Brooklyn was notably absent from several recent celebrations, including David Beckham’s 50th birthday and his investiture at Windsor Castle in November, as well as Victoria Beckham’s Netflix docuseries.

In his January statement, Brooklyn wrote: “For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family.

Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they'll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.”

Despite the celebratory posts, sources indicate that Brooklyn and Nicola remain focused on privacy and keeping their family life out of the public eye, even as the ongoing tension continues to play out on social media.
