Gypsy-Rose Blanchard reveals truth behind her natural weight loss
Blanchard revealed she does not follow a workout routine or limit her diet
Gypsy-Rose Blanchard has addressed public curiosity regarding her physical transformation, confirming that her recent weight loss is a natural result of her transition to life after prison.
On 4 March, the 34-year-old author shared a video on Instagram, showing herself stepping on a scale to reveal a weight of 108.2 lbs. Panning the camera to show her silhouette, she clarified that she has not used GLP-1 medications or followed a strict fitness regime.
Blanchard, who was released in 2023 after serving eight years for the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, attributed the change to her newfound autonomy. "My weight loss came from life circumstances," she explained.
The mother-of-one noted that moving away from "commissary junk food" to "home-cooked meals" was the primary catalyst. She further emphasised her holistic adjustment, stating: “I’m not gatekeeping... After being released two years ago my lifestyle changed a lot.”
The update follows a significant year for Blanchard, who welcomed her daughter, Aurora, with boyfriend Ken Urker in 2025. Reflecting on her journey since her parole ended last June, she described the physical shift as a byproduct of emotional healing.
“I don’t limit my diet, and I don’t use GLP-1. I wasn’t actively trying to lose weight… my whole life just changed and adjusted to freedom,” she concluded.
Having served her time, Blanchard maintains that she is now moving forward with "clarity, peace, and self-forgiveness," focused on her future as a parent and a private citizen.
