Roku introduces trivia game to combat streaming decision fatigue
Roku users unsure of what to watch may find a solution with 'Roklue,' debuting on streaming platform on March 7
For Roku users unsure of what to watch next, “Roklue” could be the solution — a fresh game launching on the streaming device on March 7.
Released on Thursday, Roklue is a cultural trivia challenge that Roku describes as a tool for discovering new shows and “quiz players on trending movies and TV series, along with cherished classics they love to revisit.”
The initial Roklue theme will celebrate "awards season," including “hints inspired by the most iconic award show moments and acclaimed films.”
The trivia game themes will transform as the year progresses. Users can play it directly from the Roku home screen come Saturday — no downloads required.
Roklue is expanding the variety of games available on Roku via its game channels.
Similarly, Netflix offers games too that have been available for many years, both on its streaming service and as mobile apps requiring a Netflix subscription.
