Cruz Beckham has said he hopes to reconcile with his older brother, Brooklyn Beckham, as tensions within the famous family continue to make headlines.

Brooklyn, 27, has been at the center of a reported rift with his parents, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, following a public statement in which he criticized them and claimed they had disrupted parts of his 2022 wedding to Nicola Peltz Beckham.

The fallout is believed to have also strained Brooklyn’s relationships with his siblings Romeo Beckham, Cruz Beckham, and younger sister Harper Beckham.

However, Cruz, 21, recently indicated that he remains hopeful the situation could improve.

In a video shared by TMZ, Cruz was asked whether he had any message for Brooklyn after he turned 27 earlier this week. “Happy birthday,” Cruz said.

When asked whether the brothers might repair their relationship, he added simply: “I hope so.”

Cruz had earlier posted a birthday message for Brooklyn on Instagram, sharing a throwback photo alongside the caption: “I love you.” The post appeared to go against Brooklyn’s previously stated wish for family matters to remain private.

Meanwhile, David and Victoria also publicly wished their son a happy birthday on social media, with the former football star sharing childhood photos and writing: “27 today. Happy Birthday, Bust. We love you.”

Victoria posted similar images, adding: “Happy birthday, Brooklyn, we love you so much.”

Despite the public messages, reports suggest Brooklyn and Nicola were upset by the posts, believing they contradicted their desire to keep family matters out of the spotlight.

A source told Entertainment Tonight that the couple felt the birthday tributes were “performative public actions,” something Brooklyn has said he wants to move away from.
