Khloé Kardashian shares the ‘wild’ baby name she considered for son Tatum

Khloé Kardashian has revealed that she nearly gave her son a very different and “wild” name before ultimately deciding on Tatum.

The reality star shared that she struggled for months to settle on a name for her son, whom she welcomed via surrogate in 2022 with ex-partner Tristan Thompson.

Speaking during a recent Ask Me Anything video on YouTube, Kardashian said the naming process took far longer than expected.

“Tatum, I don’t think I landed on a name for like nine months,” she explained. “After he was born, which was crazy, we called him ‘Baby’ at first.”

She added that the family even used a temporary nickname while trying to decide.

“And then we would just call him Rob sometimes,” she said.

Kardashian revealed she had been determined to choose a name beginning with the letter “T,” matching the initials of her daughter True Thompson, whom she welcomed in 2018.

“I wanted a T name, something still unique but not too unique, not crazy,” she said.

However, one unusual option briefly made the shortlist.

“But I think the wildest name for him I liked was Tiger.”

While choosing Tatum’s name proved difficult, Kardashian said naming her daughter was much easier.

She revealed that Tristan Thompson had once suggested the Game of Thrones-inspired name Khaleesi during the height of the show’s popularity, but she quickly ruled it out.

“This was in the big Game of Thrones era, and I just knew we weren’t naming her Khaleesi,” Kardashian said.

Instead, she chose the name True, a meaningful family tribute suggested by her grandmother. Kardashian explained that the name comes from her mother, Kris Jenner’s father, whose middle name was True, making it a long-standing family tradition.

Beyond baby names, Kardashian recently opened up about the possibility of expanding her family again. 

During an episode of her Khloé in Wonder Land podcast, she said she still has a few embryos frozen and has briefly considered having another child on her own.

However, she admitted she is uncertain whether she has the emotional energy for a third baby.

“It’s just been a thought,” Kardashian said. “I don’t think it’s going to happen, because I don’t have the energy.”
