Jessi Ngatikaura, star of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, is speaking candidly about the criticism she’s faced following recent cosmetic procedures.

The 33-year-old reality star says the negative responses online “really shook” her, making her rethink sharing such personal experiences.

Throughout February, Ngatikaura posted updates on her breast augmentation and other procedures, including her lower and upper blepharoplasty.

While she initially shared her excitement and progress, she was met with unexpected backlash.

“I don’t think I’m ever gonna get things done again — I’m done — but I also don’t think I would share it if I did because the internet is so mean,” she told People.

Despite the online hate, Ngatikaura explains she has always been open about her life.

“I’m such an open book that I just can't not share my life… it would be hard not to share,” she says, referencing the recovery process and how her appearance has changed over the years.

Ngatikaura also described how the procedures affected her self-confidence. “My face is swollen. My eyes look crazy. I don't look like how I used to, and I hate it… It's ruined my career in a sense because I don't feel comfortable doing anything,” she admitted. She expressed regret over the blepharoplasty, saying she wished she had asked more questions and reconsidered.

The Utah native added that she’s learned to cope with online harassment, noting that people often see her as a “character” rather than a real person.

While the backlash has been tough, Ngatikaura remains determined to move forward as she films season five of the hit reality series.
