Kevin Federline speaks out following Britney Spears' shock DUI arrest
Kevin Federline expressed his hopes for Britney’s recovery via his legal team
Kevin Federline has broken his silence following the arrest of his former wife, Britney Spears, on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
The incident occurred in Ventura, California, on Wednesday, after the singer’s vehicle was reportedly seen driving erratically at high speed.
In a statement shared via his solicitor, Mark Vincent Kaplan, the 47-year-old expressed a cautious hope for the pop star’s well-being and recovery.
“Kevin hopes for the best for Britney and if help is necessary, he hopes that she will neither resist it or those who are attempting to work with her,” Kaplan told TMZ.
Highlighting the gravity of the situation, the solicitor added: "The concern is whether this is just a one off or a one more."
Spears, 44, was released shortly after her arrest, with her representatives describing the event as “an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable.”
The singer is reportedly "very emotional and regretful," particularly concerning the impact on her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.
A spokesperson for Spears confirmed she intends to comply with the law, stating: "Britney is going to take the right steps... and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change."
This latest development follows years of public friction between the former couple, including Federline’s recent memoir.
However, the focus remains on Spears’ health, with her team asserting that her loved ones are now coordinating a "needed plan to set her up for success for well being."
