Kim Kardashian reveals four christmas gift puppies for kids after PETA criticism

Kim Kardashian is offering fans another glimpse of her family's pets, after attracting attention for gifting her four kids each a puppy for Christmas.

The reality TV icon, 45, posted an update on Instagram, showcasing the same two pictures of her Pomeranian puppies that she uploaded on Christmas Day in December.

"Welcome to the family," she noted in her caption.

Kim initially shared a sequence of videos and images on her Instagram Stories on Christmas, announcing that her family had grown with four little Pomeranian puppies: two with dark coats, one creamy, and one with sable fur.

On an image featuring all four pups together, she added, "Each child got a pup."

Kim is the mom of North, 12, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 6, with her former spouse Kanye West.

In January, the Skims creator posted videos on her Instagram Story showing her children interacting with their new puppies at home.

In one clip, Kim held a puppy up to the camera as one of her kids exclaimed in the background, “Mommy, look, it's licking me!”

In another clip, Chicago was captured snuggling and kissing the same puppy in the home's lounge.

Psalm was also seen crawling on all fours with Chicago as they followed one of the dark-coated pups through the room.

After sharing the Christmas joy, Kim faced criticism from animal advocates, with PETA leader Ingrid Newkirk reprimanding her for giving animals as presents.

"Puppies are not toys, and it's a disappointment that Kim passed up the opportunity to advocate for shelter dogs, instead facing rightful criticism on social media for this," Newkirk stated to PEOPLE.

"[They can] attempt to make reparations by encouraging their children to volunteer at a local shelter or funding a local shelter adoption event or at least a spay day to aid in preventing the growing homeless puppy issue," suggested the PETA head.

The Kardashian-Jenner clan collectively has accumulated a variety of pets over the years, including dogs, cats, reptiles, and horses. 

Kylie Jenner, the youngest sibling of Kim and Khloé, owns several dogs, while their sister Kendall Jenner has a horse named Arizona.
