Elizabeth Hurley revives iconic 1999 Met Gala gown for India trip

Elizabeth Hurley has stunned admirers by reviving a classic Versace gown from her personal archives, proving her timeless style remains unchanged after nearly three decades.

During a high-profile visit to India this weekend, the 60-year-old actress and model stepped out in the same plunging black dress she famously wore to the 1999 Met Gala.

The daring ensemble, featuring a thigh-high split and a vibrant firework-inspired embellishment, highlights a career defined by iconic fashion moments and an enduring partnership with the Italian fashion house.

Reflecting on the nostalgic choice, Hurley shared a comparison photograph on social media, noting the longevity of her favourite wardrobe pieces.

“Viva Versace! For this weekend’s adventure in India, I dug into my archives and unearthed one of my favourite pieces, which I last wore to the Met Gala in 1999,” she wrote.

Adding a touch of sentiment, she remarked: “27 years may have passed, but some loves never fade.” The look received immediate praise from Donatella Versace herself, as well as Hurley’s boyfriend, musician Billy Ray Cyrus, and her son, Damian Hurley.

The actress, who has recently made headlines for her vibrant social life and commitment to fitness, continues to embrace a glamorous, jet-set lifestyle into 2026.

From ringing in the New Year with Cyrus to holidaying in the Maldives, Hurley maintains a confident public presence.

Fans were quick to label her appearance as "insane" and "timeless," marvelling at her ability to effortlessly inhabit a gown designed nearly thirty years ago.
