Samsung explores 'vibe coding' AI tool for Galaxy smartphones
Samsung may introduce a new AI feature for its Galaxy smartphones
Samsung may introduce a new artificial intelligence (AI) feature for its Samsung Galaxy smartphones that could allow users to create their own apps simply by describing what they want.
The concept emerged during a recent interview with Won‑Joon Choi, head of Samsung’s Mobile Experience division.
He said the company is exploring a technology known as “vibe coding,” which uses AI to convert written prompts into functional software.
If implemented, the feature could enable smartphone users to design personalised applications without needing programming knowledge.
Instead of writing code manually, users would be able to describe the desired function of an app, and the AI system would generate the necessary code automatically.
The broader technology industry has increasingly shown interest in similar tools that allow software to be built through simple text instructions.
Companies are experimenting with AI-generated applications and new ways to personalise smartphone experiences.
For example, Nothing Technology has introduced a related concept through its feature called Essential Apps.
The tool enables users to create custom widgets using text prompts, effectively turning their smartphones into lightweight development environments.
A comparable feature on Galaxy devices could have significant reach given Samsung’s dominant position in the global smartphone market.
While the company has not confirmed when such functionality might appear, Samsung has been increasingly emphasising AI capabilities in its latest devices.
The firm has promoted its smartphones as AI-powered tools designed to improve productivity and offer deeper customisation for users.
