The much-anticipated "HomePod with a display" we've been hearing about was initially slated for a 2025 launch, got pushed to this spring, and now, according to the latest reports, it’s postponed until this coming fall.

Leaker Kosutami shared this information on X last week, and today, Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman offered similar insights, indicating that its robot arm-equipped sibling is now expected to debut in 2027.

According to Gurman, the J490 smart home display / HomePad's release is tied to Apple completing its chatbot-style AI update for Siri.

This update was anticipated sooner, but it's now forecasted to launch later this year, along with the iPhone 18 Pro and 2027 editions of iOS, macOS, and other software.

Gurman describes the device as having a sleek silver aluminum case, a 7-inch display, and a USB-C power connection, operating on tvOS 27.

Additionally, new versions of the HomePod speaker and Apple TV 4K box are pending that Siri update, and there’s a smart home sensor in development as well.
