Bruno Mars tops Billboard 200 with ‘The Romantic’
Bruno Mars has returned to the top of the charts
Bruno Mars has returned to the top of the charts, earning his second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with “The Romantic.”
The album debuts at No. 1 with 186,000 equivalent album units in its first week. That total includes 93,500 album sales, 90,500 streaming equivalent units — representing about 93.95 million on-demand streams — and 2,000 track equivalent units.
The achievement marks Mars’ first chart-topping album since Unorthodox Jukebox reached No. 1 in 2013.
Overall, “The Romantic” becomes his second No. 1 album and fifth top-10 entry on the chart. His other top-10 releases include Doo-Wops & Hooligans, 24K Magic, Unorthodox Jukebox, and An Evening with Silk Sonic, a collaborative project with Anderson .Paak.
The nearly 13-year gap between No. 1 albums is the longest for a living male solo artist since Paul McCartney experienced a 36-year gap before topping the chart again in 2018.
Several new releases also entered the top 10 this week. Gorillaz debuted at No. 7 with “The Mountain,” earning 53,000 equivalent units.
BLACKPINK landed at No. 8 with the mini-album “DEADLINE,” which opened with 52,000 units.
Meanwhile, Mitski entered the chart at No. 10 with “Nothing’s About to Happen to Me,” earning nearly 43,000 units.
Elsewhere in the top 10 are Bad Bunny at No. 2, Morgan Wallen at No. 3, Don Toliver at No. 4, Olivia Dean at No. 5, Megan Moroney at No. 6 and Taylor Swift at No. 9.
