Gwen Stefani calls son Apollo’s birth ‘first miracle’ following spiritual transformation
Stefani calls her youngest child’s birth a 'full-on gift' after struggling with fertility
Gwen Stefani says a spiritual “awakening” played a pivotal role in her fertility journey, helping her conceive her youngest son, Apollo, at age 44.
In a conversation for Hallow, a Catholic prayer and meditation app, with Evangelist-turned-Catholic Jeff Cavins, the 56-year-old singer reflected on her Italian-Catholic upbringing.
She described attending catechism classes and saying grace nightly, calling herself a “baby Christian” as she continues to grow in her faith.
Stefani shared that a transformative period in her spiritual life coincided with her desire to have another child.
“I really did. And I couldn't, and I was old. And we start talking about all these things… it was waking me up,” she said, crediting discussions about the Torah with sparking her renewed faith and hope.
The No Doubt star recounted a touching moment with her oldest son, Kingston, 19, who prayed nightly for her to conceive.
“He was like, ‘Please God let my mom have a baby,’ and I just sat there going wow… four weeks later, I was pregnant with Apollo,” she said. Apollo was born naturally, whom she called “the first miracle.”
Stefani shares three sons with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale: Kingston, 19, Zuma, 17, and Apollo, 12. She emphasized that her faith has become increasingly central in her life and continues to shape her personal and family experiences.
“Faith planted in me as a child has grounded me, and in moments like this, it felt like a gift,” Stefani said, describing her spiritual journey as an ongoing process of growth and gratitude.
