Singer Chappell Roan calls out public harassment during Paris Fashion Week
The singer says being harassed in public made her feel 'disregarded as a human'
Chappell Roan is speaking out after feeling harassed outside a restaurant during Paris Fashion Week.
The 28-year-old singer, known for hits like My Kink Is Karma, shared her frustration in a viral video filmed by an onlooker over the weekend.
Roan, sporting a headscarf, addressed a group of fans and photographers who she said were ignoring her repeated requests for space.
“I’m just trying to go to dinner, and I’ve asked these people several times to get away from me,” Roan said in the clip.
“These are all the people that are completely disregarding all of my boundaries. All of you, I’m asking you kindly to please leave me alone and stop following me and harassing me.”
She also responded to a fan requesting an autograph, saying firmly, “No, I’m not gonna sign.”
The incident appears to have taken place in Paris, where Roan has been attending shows for Paris Fashion Week, including Acne Studios, Mugler, Vivienne Westwood, and Alexander McQueen.
This isn’t the first time Roan has spoken publicly about the challenges of fame and setting boundaries.
In a May 2025 interview on the Outlaws with TS Madison podcast, she said being a pop star can be overwhelming.
“I’ve been treated better at my donut shop job than I have on a f------ carpet,” she said. “People on the news treat me worse than how customers did.”
Roan also explained why boundaries are essential for her mental health and ability to perform.
“Do you want me to just get to the point where I become agoraphobic? Or so stressed out or so anxious to perform? Because if I don’t say anything I will. If I do not stand up for myself, I will quit because I cannot bear this,” she said.
