Lainey Wilson jokes about wedding stress ahead of big day with Devlin Hodges
The country singer says she and her fiancé are focused on keeping the day personal and joyful
Lainey Wilson opened up about the joys and challenges of planning her upcoming wedding to fiancé Devlin “Duck” Hodges.
The country music star, 33, spoke exclusively to People at the Los Angeles premiere of Reminders of Him on March 9, joking about the complexity of tying the knot.
"Girl, I need some help. I need some help," Wilson laughed. "It's going good. Honestly, we're taking our time, and I've told him, and he's on the same page. We just want it to be about what it's supposed to be about and just enjoy it."
Earlier this year at the 2026 Grammys, Wilson shared some of her wedding must-haves, emphasizing a personal and intimate celebration.
"I want my family to be there, like my closest family, like my mama and daddy, sister and her kids. I want good music, good food," she said.
The couple plans to reflect their individual tastes in the reception menu. "I'm from Louisiana, so maybe a little bit of, like, a Cajun flare.
My fiancé likes a good steak. So it might just be a mixture," she added.
Wedding planning has also included the search for the perfect gown, which Wilson hopes will move Hodges to tears.
"I'm excited to just step outside of the box and see what happens. So hopefully when he sees me, he'll be boohooing," she said in August 2025.
Wilson previously described Hodges as her "biggest cheerleader," saying his support makes their wedding day all the more special.
"The sky is the limit, that's how he acts about everything. He's just the place that I get to call home, and I'm lucky to have him, and I think he's pretty dang lucky to have me, too," she said.
The couple announced their engagement in February 2025 on Instagram. While their romance became public at the ACM Awards in May 2023, the love story actually began in 2021.
Reminders of Him hits theaters on Friday, March 13.
