Miley Cyrus dons blonde wig again for Hannah Montana 20th anniversary
Miley Cyrus revisits the high school halls that defined her early career
Disney+ has officially released the first trailer for the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special, marking a nostalgic return for Miley Cyrus.
On Tuesday, viewers were given a first look at the 33-year-old artist as she donned the legendary blonde wig to revisit the character that catapulted her to global superstardom.
The trailer features the singer walking through meticulously recreated sets from the original series, including the familiar halls of Seaview High School.
Confronted by the remnants of her teenage years, the Grammy-winning performer admitted she was "already getting emotional" during the filming process.
The highly anticipated special, which was recorded in front of a live audience, is hosted by Alex Cooper. Discussing the show's profound legacy, Cooper remarked: "This show defined a generation."
Cyrus, who has often spoken about the duality of her early career, echoed this sentiment in a heartfelt statement regarding the milestone. She noted that the character "will always be a part of who I am. What started as a TV show became a shared experience that shaped my life and the lives of so many fans, and I’ll always be thankful for that connection."
The special aims to honour the enduring influence of the series two decades after its debut. Cyrus further expressed her pride in the project’s longevity, stating: "The fact that it still means so much to people all these years later is something I’m very proud of. This 'Hannahversary' is my way of celebrating and thanking the fans who’ve stood by me for 20 years."
