Man confesses to 'stabbing grandma in living room' after being 'pushed too far': Police
Randy Jenks faces charges of first-degree intentional homicide
A man from Wisconsin who allegedly fled after fatally stabbing his grandmother has been apprehended.
Randy Jenks, 36, faces charges of first-degree intentional homicide following the discovery of his 75-year-old grandmother, Patricia Mae Glenn, dead in her Mount Morris, Wisconsin home on Sunday.
According to a reviewed complaint by Law&Crime, Waushara County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived at Glenn's residence at 7:44pm for a welfare check requested by Glenn's granddaughter.
Glenn was discovered within the home, lying in a pool of blood, and was declared deceased at the scene.
Deputies spoke to Glenn's granddaughter, also Jenks' sister, and learned that Jenks had confessed to family members about stabbing Glenn and fleeing to Utah.
Family members indicated they had an aunt residing in Ogden, Utah, where they believed Jenks had gone.
The granddaughter called the aunt's residence where Jenks was located. During the call, he allegedly admitted to his sister, "I stabbed Grandma in the living room."
Jenks' relatives revealed that he had lived with Glenn for about a year and had been facing mental health struggles, authorities detailed.
Once Jenks' whereabouts in Ogden were confirmed, detectives spoke to Jenks’ mother, who recounted Jenks’ admission of his actions.
He allegedly told her he stabbed Glenn in the neck and ran "because he was frightened,” as per the complaint.
Ogden City Police arrived at Jenks' aunt's home and took him into custody without complications. Jenks confessed to the police, admitting to the fatal stabbing of his grandmother, stating she had "pushed him too far."
Jenks remains detained in Utah and is anticipated to be extradited to Waushara County to face a first-degree intentional homicide charge. His upcoming court appearance is not yet scheduled.
