Jack Osbourne has announced the birth of his fifth child, a poignant tribute to his late father, the legendary Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne.

The television personality, 40, shared the news via Instagram on Wednesday, revealing that the infant, named Ozzy Matilda Osbourne, arrived on 5 March 2026.

The newborn weighed 7 pounds, 12 ounces and measured 19 inches at birth. The announcement featured a black-and-white clip of the sleeping infant accompanied by a plush bat toy, a clear reference to the elder Osbourne's infamous 1982 stage incident.

This is the second child for Jack and his wife, Aree Gearhart, 34, who married in September 2023. Baby Ozzy Matilda joins the couple’s three-year-old daughter, Maple Artemis, as well as Jack’s three daughters from his previous marriage to Lisa Stelly: Pearl Clementine, 13, Andy Rose, 10, and Minnie Theodora, 8.

The pregnancy provided a measure of solace following the rock icon’s death in July 2025 at the age of 76. Jack revealed that he and Aree were able to share the news with his father shortly before his passing.

Reflecting on the timing, Jack noted: “I think it’s been partly a healthy distraction, partly healing — probably in that kind of ‘full cycle’ category, in a weird way.”

He further explained that the impending arrival shifted his focus during a difficult period, stating: “It’s very much taken energy out of the grieving side of things and parked in a bit more hopefulness.”
