Kathleen Turner winks at photographers after correcting red carpet etiquette
Turner looks back on her iconic chemistry with Michael Douglas during a rare night out
Kathleen Turner made a striking return to the spotlight on 10 March, attending the New York premiere of Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.
The 71-year-old actress, celebrated for her distinctive husky voice and sharp wit, used a cane to navigate the event but remained in high spirits as she posed for photographers.
During the session, the screen icon took a moment to politely but firmly correct the journalists in attendance regarding how she wishes to be addressed.
As reporters called out her first name to grab her attention, Turner addressed the crowd with her trademark poise. "You know what I really like, at this age? Miss Turner," she stated.
The press gallery immediately adjusted their tone, with the actress offering a wink to those who complied with her request.
This rare public appearance follows her recent attendance at the premiere of The Roses, a remake of the dark comedy that defined her early career.
Turner’s enduring legacy is often linked to her celebrated partnership with Michael Douglas. Reflecting on their undeniable chemistry in Romancing the Stone, she previously admitted: "It was that wonderful sexual tension, you know? When you really, really know you want somebody — and I'm saying it went both ways — and you can't have them. It's just lovely."
The pair recently reunited for The Kominsky Method, a project Turner described as a "no-brainer". Working together again felt effortless for the duo, with Turner noting: "It just is a comfort factor. Then you get to see it on screen and [realise], 'Oh, this is really good'."
