Shia LaBeouf cleared for Rome travel after arrest to attend father's baptism
The 'Honey Boy' actor is expected to attend another court session on March 19
Shia LaBeouf was seen in Italy this week after a judge approved his request to travel abroad post his February arrests.
The “Holes” actor was captured stepping into a black vehicle in Rome, seemingly arriving in the Eternal City on Wednesday to be there for his father, Jeffrey, at his baptism.
In the photographs, he opted for a laid-back travel ensemble, donning a red, black, and white graphic t-shirt paired with gray shorts.
Appearing relaxed and casual, the actor maintained a low profile with sunglasses.
As detailed in court documents reviewed by Page Six, LaBeouf submitted a request to depart New Orleans for the trip on February 25.
His lawyer asked the court to permit his travel from March 1-8 for a short vacation “for religious purposes” and mentioned that he had no upcoming court dates during this period.
Yet, Judge Simone Levine — who previously oversaw his February 26 court session — denied the request during a bond and status hearing on February 26.
On March 4, LaBeouf’s lawyer appeared in court again to request travel permission for the actor. This time, Judge Peter Hamilton in New Orleans approved the motion for leave.
Court records indicate that the “Honey Boy” actor is expected to attend another court session on March 19.
The former Disney Channel star faced legal issues last month following his arrest on February 17 tied to an alleged Mardi Gras bar tussle.
Video footage of the incident reportedly showed LaBeouf using homophobic slurs during the altercation with two men.
A police report later disclosed that the actor insulted the men with the term “f—-ts” while throwing punches and may have dislocated one man’s nose.
Charged with two counts of simple battery, he was originally released on his own recognizance, allowing him to return to the New Orleans nightlife shortly after his release.
