Taylor Frankie Paul faces relationship drama before 'Bachelorette' journey
The pair’s complicated relationship takes center stage in the season finale
Dakota Mortensen opened up about how he spent one final night with Taylor Frankie Paul before she left to film The Bachelorette, adding another dramatic chapter to the pair’s complicated relationship.
The revelation comes as season four of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives explores the on-again, off-again dynamic between the 31-year-old MomTok founder and Mortensen, who have been romantically linked since late 2022.
In the show’s finale, Mortensen stops by Paul’s home to drop off their son, Ever, the night before she is scheduled to leave for filming. What begins as a brief visit ends with him staying the night.
“This is kind of like the last time seeing each other before she goes away,” Mortensen says in a confessional during the episode. “It feels surreal.”
He admits that part of him wanted to see Paul one more time before she left for what could be a life-changing opportunity.
The following morning, the situation raises concern among Paul’s friends and family, who are worried the late-night encounter could derail her plans to move forward with a fresh start on The Bachelorette.
Members of the MomTok group learn about the night after Mortensen reportedly shared the information with a friend, which quickly circulates within their circle.
Several express disappointment, believing the reunion could complicate Paul’s attempt to leave behind a turbulent relationship.
Paul initially tells her family she is not feeling well and remains home while others head to the airport with her children, where MomTok members had gathered to surprise her with a celebratory send-off.
Despite the tension, Paul later acknowledges that her relationship with Mortensen remains emotionally complex.
In a confessional, she reflects on the deep connection she feels with him, saying their shared history — including raising their son — often makes it difficult to walk away completely.
“I know going into The Bachelorette it doesn’t look the best,” Paul admited.
As Paul ultimately leaves to begin filming the reality dating series, questions linger about whether she is truly ready for a new chapter.
Friends on the show continue to voice concern that the unresolved dynamic between the two could follow her into the next stage of her journey.
Season four of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is now streaming on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
