American rapper Fetty Wap has announced the upcoming release of his fourth studio album, titled Zavier, scheduled for 27 March.

The announcement, made via a cinematic social media trailer on Monday, marks a significant return for the 34-year-old artist, who was released from prison in January after serving three years of a six-year sentence.

Born Willie Junior Maxwell II, the musician reflected on his personal transformation during his incarceration, noting that he had previously become a "character" in his own life.

In the evocative trailer, the rapper discussed the isolation of his time away, stating: “When you lose the money everybody think that’s the worst part. When it get real quiet that’s when it hit different. I got so used to hearing Fetty everywhere I go, before I even knew who Zavier was.”

He noted that stripped of fame, one is left with the person their mother made. Comparing the creative atmosphere of his current work to the period he recorded his breakout hit Trap Queen, he described the 17-track album as a reflection of a new chapter.

Beyond the music, the artist is launching community initiatives focused on education and vision care for at-risk youth. Expressing gratitude to his supporters, he told Billboard: “I’m just happy and grateful to be back and thankful that my fans didn’t forget about me.”

To celebrate his return, he will perform four "welcome home" concerts across the United States, signalling a purposeful move forward in both his career and his advocacy work.
