The fascination with "lobster" in China has rapidly evolved into a competitive race among corporations.

Within a short time since OpenClaw captured the attention of developers and enthusiasts, major internet companies in China started unveiling their customized variants and integrations involving the AI agent.

Last week, Tencent introduced QClaw, an addition that allows WeChat users to utilize OpenClaw seamlessly within the app's extensive network.

By sending a direct message to QClaw on WeChat, users can instantly activate the feature, as described by Tencent on its site.

The cloud division of ByteDance, known as Volcano Engine, introduced ArkClaw, a web-based platform for OpenClaw.

Alibaba also launched JVS Claw, a mobile application crafted to simplify the installation and deployment of OpenClaw.

Xiaomi, specializing in consumer electronics, initiated a private beta for MiClaw, enabling users to operate Xiaomi devices and smart home appliances using short spoken commands.

AI startups have kept pace rapidly. Zhipu AI, Moonshot AI, and MiniMax have announced comprehensive language models or solutions built upon OpenClaw.

Following their declarations, shares for Zhipu AI and MiniMax rose 13% and 22% respectively, last Tuesday.

It's not only Chinese firms involved. Nvidia stated on Monday it's developing NemoClaw, an enterprise solution derived from OpenClaw.

"This platform includes safeguards, ensures privacy, and lets us safely limit tasks within our company," said CEO Jensen Huang during Nvidia's 2026 GTC conference in San Jose on Monday.

OpenClaw has stirred immense interest in China. The catchphrase "raising the lobster" has gone viral as online users shared experiences of using the AI tool for task automation.
