Oppo's nearly creaseless foldable won't launch in Europe
Oppo's new foldable, the Find N6, features its innovative 'zero-feel crease'
Oppo unveils its “zero-feel crease” foldable phone, the Find N6. Though it was unlikely to be released in the US, it’s disappointing to learn that the “global” release doesn’t include Europe.
Instead, the Find N6 will be available starting March 20th in what Oppo refers to as its “key markets” throughout Asia, as well as in Australia and New Zealand.
This is unfortunate because, like the Find N5 before it, the N6 seems to be among the top foldable phones available.
Its distinctive feature is undoubtedly the crease, which I examined thoroughly last week.
Thanks to a liquid 3D-printed hinge design, it boasts the most minimal crease I've ever encountered in a foldable phone — it's barely noticeable to the eye or touch.
While the crease hasn’t disappeared completely, it’s nearly imperceptible and unlikely to bother users.
The Find N6 isn’t quite the slimmest foldable — that title belongs to the Honor Magic V6 — but measuring 8.93mm and 225g, it's comparable in size and weight to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Honor's phone is just slightly slimmer. The Magic V6 also features a larger battery. However, the Find N6’s 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery should provide ample power for an entire day’s use.
The camera system is another promising aspect of this phone. Equipped with a triple rear camera setup, it includes a 200MP main camera alongside 50MP ultrawide and telephoto lenses, utilising Samsung sensors.
The fourth lens is a color spectrum sensor that Oppo first featured in last year’s Find X9 flagships, which had highly praised cameras.
Despite its large bump, Oppo has managed to keep it relatively flat and harmonised with the phone’s design.
Powered by a seven-core version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the phone comes with 16GB RAM and 512GB of storage space.
The Find N6 falls short only in dust protection with an IP56, 58, and 59 rating, offering superior water protection but trailing behind Google’s Pixel 10 Pro Fold and the latest Honor foldable in safeguarding against dust.
Oppo introduces the Find N6 with an AI Pen stylus that operates on both screens, charging via pogo pins found in its dedicated case, which wirelessly charges through the phone.
New software features include expanded multitasking that allows up to four freely resizable floating windows to remain operational simultaneously.
