The history of animal ownership involving Justin Bieber has come under renewed scrutiny following a series of public outbursts from the 32-year-old superstar.

Since the birth of his son, Jack Blues, in August 2024, observers have raised concerns regarding the singer’s welfare and the subsequent impact on his household's pets.

A Hollywood insider noted that "Justin’s revolving door of pets hasn’t gone unnoticed," suggesting that past struggles may have affected his ability to provide long-term care for various creatures.

The musician’s record with animals includes several controversial incidents involving exotic species and domestic breeds. In 2013, his capuchin monkey, Mally, was confiscated at Munich Airport due to incorrect documentation.

Regarding the abandonment, Bieber later remarked: “Things get twisted. I had all the right papers.” Animal welfare organisations have frequently criticised this pattern of behaviour.

A spokesperson for PETA stated: “Treating them like accessories to collect and things to discard causes them heartbreak and fuels the companion animal homelessness crisis.”

Notable instances of animal rehoming

  • Johnson the Boa Constrictor: Auctioned for charity in 2012, leading the buyer to describe the use of living creatures as fashion accessories as "really disgusting."
  • PAC the Hamster: Handed to a fan outside an arena in 2012; the animal reportedly died months later.
  • Todd the Chow Chow: Rehomed after six months; the new owner had to crowdfund for the pup's hip surgery.
  • Sushi and Tuna: Two Savannah cats purchased for $35,000, later moved to a relative's home after being described as "psycho" by Hailey Bieber.

Currently, the family retains two Yorkshire Terriers, though the whereabouts of previous pets remain largely unconfirmed.
