Emily Andre describes 'traumatic' hospital dash after son’s facial injury
Doctor Emily Andre reveals the 'mum mode' struggle during family crisis
The 36-year-old doctor Emily Andre has shared the details of a "traumatic experience" involving her nine-year-old son, Theo, who was recently rushed to hospital following a serious facial injury.
During a candid Q&A session on TikTok, the mother-of-three explained that her son, whom she shares with singer Peter Andre, smashed his face against a wooden log on an outdoor trail.
The force of the impact caused his teeth to puncture his lip, necessitating immediate specialist medical intervention and ongoing follow-up care.
Reflecting on the emergency, Emily praised the clinical staff who managed his treatment while admitting the emotional difficulty of the situation.
“The hospital was amazing and we were referred to specialists who were absolutely incredible. That will be little boys for you,” she noted.
Despite her professional medical background, she confessed to the struggle of balancing her roles during a crisis: “As a doctor I find myself going into mum mode in those situations but I still try and remain calm in a situation of crisis.”
This incident marks the third time Theo has required urgent hospitalisation. Emily detailed his previous health scares, including a severe respiratory infection at just 10 days old and a "nasty" gastric bug at age three that caused him to become "floppy" with a rapid heart rate.
In contrast to these domestic worries, Peter’s eldest son, Junior, 20, is celebrating a professional milestone by landing his first acting role in the drama Finding My Voice, which also features his father.
