‘Saturday Night Live UK’ announces US premiere on Peacock
Peacock will host the first SNL UK episode
As Saturday Night Live UK gains attention for Sky TV, the British version of the popular NBC sketch show is set to premiere in the US tonight.
With Peacock as the designated US platform for the series, the inaugural episode of SNL UK will be available for streaming Sunday night at 9pm ET/6pm PT, just after its Saturday (March 21) premiere date.
The first episode, hosted by Tina Fey with musical guest Wet Leg, captured nearly 230,000 viewers in the UK, despite receiving a range of reviews. Sky has already committed to an eight-episode first season.
Next weekend’s show will star host Jamie Dornan and musical guest Wolf Alice. The following week’s episode will feature Riz Ahmed and Kasabian.
SNL UK‘s first cast includes Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi, and Paddy Young.
SNL UK is created by the UK arm of Universal Television Alternative Studio and Broadway Video for Sky and NOW.
Lorne Michaels takes on the role of executive producer, James Longman leads as producer, Liz Clare directs, and Daran Jonno Johnson serves as head writer.
