Brooks Nader experienced an emotional milestone as she slipped into the iconic Baywatch red swimsuit for the first time, ahead of filming the highly anticipated Fox reboot of the classic series.

The 29-year-old model, cast as lifeguard Selene, revealed exclusively to People at Clarins’ Night of Extra in Los Angeles on March 20 that she was “bawling crying” when she donned the swimsuit.

“It’s such a full-circle moment,” Nader said. “I wore a red one-piece on my Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover years ago, so it feels like it’s been a long time in the making.” She added that her family shared in the emotional moment.

“My sisters, I was FaceTiming them, and they were bawling, crying when they saw me in the red suit. It’s such a big moment, and I’m so honored to be a part of it.”

The Baywatch reboot, set to premiere during Fox’s 2026–2027 season, will follow Hobie Buchannon (Stephen Amell) as he steps into the role of Baywatch captain, continuing the legacy of his father, Mitch Buchannon, originally played by David Hasselhoff.

The storyline centers on Hobie’s world turning upside down when his daughter Charlie (Jessica Belkin), joins the team as a new lifeguard.

Nader’s character, Selene is described as “the sharp-tongued Captain of the Zuma Beach lifeguards,” whose professional approach often clashes with Hobie’s, creating a fiery on-screen rivalry.

The ensemble cast also features David Chokachi reprising his role as Cody Madison from the original series, along with Hassie Harrison as Nat, Thaddeus LaGrone as Brad, Shay Mitchell as Trina, Noah Beck as Luke, and Livvy Dunne as Grace.

Production has already started, with the cast spotted in bright red swimsuits filming on a California beach on March 18.

Nader acknowledged the legacy of the original Baywatch stars, including Hasselhoff, Pamela Anderson, Carmen Electra, and David Charvet.

“Everyone in the original series is so iconic. They shaped this series and made it what it is today. I’m so honored to try and fill those shoes. We’re all working really hard, the cast and I. It’s such an amazing class of people. Everyone has been so dedicated to doing that proud.”
