'The Boys' Season 5 release: Episode schedule and air dates

The final chapter of The Boys has officially arrived, marking the beginning of the end for one of television’s most subversive superhero dramas.

Developed by Eric Kripke, the series has built a loyal following with its dark, satirical take on a world where superpowered individuals — known as “Supes” — are controlled by the powerful Vought International. 

While publicly celebrated as heroes, many of them are deeply flawed and dangerous behind the scenes.

Kripke confirmed in 2024 that Season 5 would conclude the story, describing the finale as a “bloody, thrilling, intense end.” 

The final season is expected to center on a climactic confrontation between Homelander, played by Antony Starr, and Billy Butcher, portrayed by Karl Urban.

Season 5 premiered on April 8 with its first two episodes, with the remaining six episodes set to roll out weekly every Wednesday. 

The eight-episode season will conclude on May 20.

Cast members have hinted at an emotional and unpredictable ending. Starr recently described the finale as “surprising” and “very entertaining,” adding that concluding the show at five seasons feels like the right decision.

As The Boys heads into its final run, fans can expect high-stakes drama, brutal action and a definitive conclusion to the long-running battle between power and accountability in a world gone wrong.
