Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made an appearance at a glamorous private event hosted by Netflix executive Ted Sarandos.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were seen enjoying a splendid evening at Sarandos's Montecito, California, residence on Friday (April 10), for the Beef Season 2 Montecito Tastemaker occasion.
Meghan, 44, chose to wear Heidi Merrick's "Gale" dress in a bold chartreuse shade, complementing it with Jimmy Choo sandals. Harry, 41, opted for a classic navy suit paired with a white shirt.
Many renowned figures were seen at the event, including Beef Season 2 stars Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, and Charles Melton, as well as Katy Perry, Justin Trudeau, Orlando Bloom, and The Bear actor Lionel Boyce among others.
Meghan and Harry were captured laughing and taking photos with Sarandos and Avant.
In one of the shots, Meghan and Avant hold hands, and in another, they share a heartfelt embrace.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex being present at the Netflix gathering follows a Variety report from March 17 that suggested friction between the couple and the platform — allegations both the Sussexes and Netflix have refuted.
In a response to Variety, the couple’s lawyer, Michael J. Kump, countered the statements, noting, “Meghan frequently communicates with Mr. Sarandos and has visited his home.”
Netflix's Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria also addressed the rumors at the “Next on Netflix” event on March 18, assuring attendees, “Don't trust everything you hear.”
After hinting at “a bit of fact-checking,” Bajaria affirmed that the relationship with Meghan and Harry is intact and there are active projects “on both the TV and film fronts,” as “agreements evolve constantly.”
"I guess there isn't an exciting saga here," she commented.
Shortly after the Variety piece, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed they are set to co-produce a new polo-themed drama series on Netflix via their company Archewell Productions.
The series is believed to draw inspiration from Harry's "pet project," POLO, a documentary series that hit Netflix in December 2024, receiving a lukewarm response.
The past year saw Netflix announcing that Meghan and Harry renewed their collaboration with the streamer through Archewell Productions with a multi-year, first-look agreement for movies and TV projects.
This also features The Wedding Date, an adaptation of the book by Jasmine Guillory, and Meet Me at the Lake, based on Carley Fortune's romance story.
