Beau Starr, an actor widely recognised for his roles in Halloween and Goodfellas, has passed away at the age of 81.

Beau passed away peacefully from natural causes on April 24 in Vancouver, Canada, his brother, actor Mike Starr, confirmed, according to TMZ.

Mike, 75, described his brother as "truly one-of-a-kind and wonderful,” noting that Beau played a key role in raising him and significantly influenced his life, as reported by the outlet.

Beau was known for his role as Sheriff Ben Meeker in the horror films Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988) and Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989), as stated in his IMDb bio.

He also starred in Martin Scorsese's iconic 1990 film Goodfellas, and was cherished for his longstanding role in the series Due South portraying Lt. Harding Welsh.

Born September 1, 1944, in Queens, New York, Beau was part of the New York Jets practice squad for several years and played two seasons in the Canadian Football League, based on Deadline.

He first appeared on screen in the sketch comedy series Bizarre in 1979 and later appeared in episodes of shows like TJ Hooker, Cagney & Lacey, Three's Company, Knight Rider, Remington Steele, The A-Team, MacGyver, and Night Court, as noted by the outlet.

Beau also featured in movies such as Speed, Devil in a Blue Dress, and Cinderella Man.

The news of Beau's passing was first shared on Instagram by actor Christopher Serrone, who acted alongside Beau in Goodfellas, on Saturday (May 2).

Christopher mentioned that Beau's brother Mike had asked him to convey the heartbreaking news.

“I deliver the very sad news of Beau Starr's passing with a heavy heart. @mikestarractor requested me to announce it,” Christopher shared in his post, which included a series of photos of Beau.

“Beau led a fulfilling life. He was a son, brother, father, grandfather, actor, and NFL/CFL player. Please join me in honoring a wonderful person. RIP,” he expressed.
