Jennifer Aniston stuns Lisa Kudrow with surprise call during live podcast finale

It was a mini "Friends" reunion that fans did not see coming, all thanks to a well-planned surprise. A clip posted to TikTok has captured the delightful moment Jennifer Aniston surprised her long-time friend and former co-star, Lisa Kudrow, during a live podcast recording. 

Kudrow was fully in character as the fame-hungry actress Valerie Cherish to celebrate the finale of her acclaimed HBO mockumentary series, "The Comeback."

The surprise unfolded during the final episode of "The Comeback Podcast," the official companion series hosted by pop culture commentator Evan Ross Katz. For those unversed, "The Comeback" chronicles the struggles of sitcom actress Valerie Cherish. The show, which first aired in 2005 and returned for a second season in 2014, recently concluded its third and final season in 2026. 

As Kudrow, embodying her red-headed character, took questions from "superfans," a very familiar voice came on the line. "Hi, Valerie," the caller said. "My name is Jen Aniston. And I'm such a huge fan."

A star-struck reaction

The TikTok video, a slick compilation of clips from the podcast recording and red-carpet appearances, shows Kudrow's genuine shock and delight. In a split-screen view, Aniston is seen in what appears to be a control room, smiling as she poses her slightly philosophical question: "Is it lonelier at the top or in the middle?"
