'KPop Demon Hunters' going global: Netflix announces spectacular live concert tour

"KPop Demon Hunters" that took the world by storm is officially stepping out of the screen and onto the live stage. Netflix has revealed a massive new project for fans of its record-shattering animated feature, announcing a global concert tour in partnership with live entertainment giant AEG Presents.

A phenomenon hits the road

The news that has sent fans into a frenzy was unveiled during Netflix's major presentation to advertisers in New York. Amy Reinhard, the streamer’s president of ad sales, revealed that the cultural impact of KPop Demon Hunters was too big to ignore. "Obviously, nothing has captured the world, the world’s attention quite like ‘KPop Demon Hunters,’" Reinhard told the audience. "There were sing-a-longs, Halloween costumes, shoutouts at the US Open and Buckingham Palace. There was even a 25% spike in flights booked to Korea."

Capitalising on this momentum, Netflix is teaming up with AEG Presents, the powerhouse promoter behind tours for K-pop royalty like Blackpink, ATEEZ, and NCT 127. The plan is to create a live experience that allows fans to feel the "golden energy" of the film’s fictional girl group, Huntr/x, in real life.

According to a release from the company, the tour promises to “bring elements of the two-time Oscar-winning film to life in spectacular ways.” For now, hopeful attendees can join a waitlist for more information as cities and dates are expected to be announced later this year.

Who will take the stage?

While the announcement has sparked immense excitement, it has also raised a crucial question: who, exactly, will be performing? Details are currently sparse, with Netflix making no indication whether the tour will feature the real-life singing talent behind the beloved characters.

For those unversed, the girl group Huntr/x was brought to life by two sets of actors. Arden Cho, May Hong, and Ji-young Yoo provided the speaking voices for the demon-slaying idols Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, while musicians EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami provided their powerful singing voices.

This trio of singers spent much of the last year promoting the film’s hit soundtrack, performing on television shows and even on the Academy Awards stage.

The lack of confirmation has led to speculation about the nature of the show. Fans are hoping to see the actual singers in costume, but some outlets have noted the vague wording could imply anything from a high-production tribute show to something more akin to a character stage play. Rei Ami, for her part, has expressed her enthusiasm, telling Gold Derby last year she would love to participate: "Yes, put me on tour!"

The unstoppable rise of Huntr/x

When the animated film premiered on Netflix in June 2025, few could have predicted the cultural behemoth it would become. The story follows a K-pop group who moonlight as demon hunters, using the positive energy from their fans- a force known as "Honmoon"- to protect the world from a rival boy band of disguised demons.

The film, produced by Sony Pictures Animation, became a runaway success. It is now Netflix’s most-watched English-language movie of all time, racking up over 325 million views in its first 91 days.

It also enjoyed a limited but successful cinema run, earning nearly $25 million at the box office. The soundtrack was inescapable, with the lead single "Golden" winning both a Grammy and an Academy Award for Best Original Song, while the film itself took home the Oscar for Best Animated Feature.

With a sequel already in development for a planned 2029 release, this global tour is the next logical step in the franchise's world domination. It aims to capture a unique audience that, according to reports, includes not just dedicated K-pop fans but also younger viewers and families drawn in by the film’s charm and action.

As the hype builds, fans are left eagerly awaiting more details. The potential to see the beloved songs performed live is a tantalising prospect, and all eyes are on Netflix and AEG to see how they bring the magic of the demon-hunting idols to life.
