MAGA influencer and boyfriend to appear in court over alleged racially aggravated assault in London
The alleged incident took place at Bond Street underground station in October 2025
A U.S. political commentator described as a MAGA influencer has been charged alongside her boyfriend following an alleged racially motivated assault at a London Underground station in 2025, British Transport Police confirmed.
Melissa Rein Lively, an outspoken supporter of former U.S. President Donald Trump, has been charged with one count of assault by beating.
Her partner, Philipp Ostermann, faces two racially aggravated public order offenses and an additional public order charge, according to a British Transport Police (BTP) statement.
The charges relate to an incident that allegedly took place in October 2025 at Bond Street Underground Station in central London.
Authorities have not released full details of the case in their official statement. However, reporting from BBC News and Metro UK, as cited in the original complaint, alleges the incident began when a stroller collision occurred between two women at the station.
The situation reportedly escalated when a man accompanying one of the women began shouting, followed by a physical altercation in which hair was allegedly pulled.
The report further claims the man involved displayed a small bottle he said was pepper spray and used it toward the other party.
According to BTP, the matter has now progressed to formal charges following the investigation into the alleged confrontation, which authorities have described as racially aggravated in part.
Lively, a PR executive who has branded herself on social media as the founder of what she calls an “anti-woke PR firm,” has been a prominent supporter of Trump-aligned politics and has previously drawn attention for her political commentary and media presence.
She had also reportedly launched a bid to become White House press secretary.
Ostermann is listed by UK media outlets as an associate director at Munich-based private equity firm Aequita.
The pair are scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on May 19 for their first hearing in relation to the charges, according to BTP.
