Eva Longoria makes rare comment on close friendship with Victoria Beckham
The pair have shared a close friendship since the mid-2000s
Eva Longoria has shared a rare insight into her longtime friendship with Victoria Beckham, revealing she hopes the fashion designer will one day take on a bigger role in supporting her charity work.
The Desperate Housewives star spoke warmly about the former Spice Girls singer while attending the Global Gift Gala in Cannes, where she serves as an honorary member of the non-profit organisation.
During a conversation with The Mirror, the 51-year-old actress admitted she would love to see Victoria become an ambassador for the foundation in the future.
“I love Victoria, I would have loved for her to be here tonight in Cannes – but she always comes to our London gala, which always means the world to me,” Eva shared.
“I would love for her to become an ambassador,” she added.
Eva and Victoria have maintained a close friendship since the mid-2000s, with the actress also serving as godmother to Victoria Beckham’s daughter, Harper.
Over the years, the pair have frequently supported one another publicly, attending major family celebrations, fashion events and charity functions together.
Meanwhile, Eva has recently been spending much of her time outside the United States after reportedly relocating two years ago.
The actress now divides her time between Spain and Mexico, though she still returns to the US when necessary for work commitments and personal matters.
Earlier, the Devious Maids actress explained that concerns surrounding the political climate in America influenced her decision to step away from living there full-time.
Eva previously described the country as “a scary place,” citing fears linked to Donald Trump’s political return.
Despite living abroad, the actress continues to remain active in Hollywood while also focusing on humanitarian and philanthropic efforts through the Global Gift Gala and other charitable initiatives.
