Nicholas Galitzine shares why he gave up alcohol following COVID period
The actor discussed his sobriety during an appearance on 'Therapuss with Jake Shane'
Nicholas Galitzine has revealed that he stopped drinking alcohol following the COVID-19 lockdown period, saying he has remained sober ever since and feels “better for it.”
The 31-year-old shared the update during a recent appearance on the Therapuss podcast with host Jake Shane, where he discussed his lifestyle changes alongside his rising film career.
When asked about his approach to partying and post-event gatherings, Galitzine confirmed he no longer drinks. “I don’t drink anymore,” he said, later clarifying, “Yeah, since COVID.”
The actor explained that his relationship with alcohol shifted during the pandemic, noting, “I was drinking a lot in COVID… I’m kind of better for it.”
He added that the decision was not framed as a dramatic life overhaul but rather a personal adjustment that improved his well-being.
Galitzine’s comments came as he promotes his latest film Masters of the Universe, in which he stars as the iconic character He-Man.
The role required an intense physical transformation, including a strict training regimen and a high-calorie diet designed to build muscle mass.
The actor has previously spoken about the demanding preparation process, which involved consuming up to 5,000 calories a day while undergoing rigorous daily workouts.
Despite the intensity of the training, Galitzine said he remained focused and motivated throughout the process, later joking about looking forward to his first post-training “cheat” meal after production wrapped.
Masters of the Universe is currently in theaters.
