Taylor Swift’s love for a homemade salad has been revealed by fellow musician Marcus Mumford, who shared details of the dish during a recent podcast appearance.

The Mumford & Sons frontman opened up about the recipe on the latest episode of the Dish podcast, explaining that the meal became a staple while Swift was staying with him and his wife, actress Carey Mulligan, during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Mumford, the salad features roasted — or, as he jokingly described it, “pretty much burnt” — cauliflower, along with pine nuts, feta cheese, spinach and avocado, dressed with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

Mumford recalled that Swift frequently enjoyed the dish while recording music at his home studio, where she worked on portions of her 2020 album evermore.

“Taylor Swift came to stay, we did some recording, and we ate it almost every night,” he said, noting that the salad and a spiced broccoli dish became regular menu items during her stay.

The musician added that Swift became such a fan of the recipe that she eventually gave it a nickname: “The Mumford Salad.”

Reflecting on that period, Mumford joked that he and Mulligan were in their “cauliflower era,” a playful nod to Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour.

The singer-songwriter has previously spoken about hosting Swift at his home.

During an earlier podcast appearance, he revealed that the pop superstar completed part of evermore in his studio and was a memorable guest throughout her stay.

Mumford also praised Swift’s thoughtfulness, recalling that she brought a candle as a gift to thank the couple for their hospitality.

“Her candle game was excellent,” he said, adding that she was a “phenomenal house guest.”

The friendship between the two artists extends beyond shared meals. Mumford collaborated with Swift on the evermore track cowboy like me and later joined her on stage for a surprise acoustic performance of the song during her Eras Tour stop in Las Vegas in 2023.
