Madelyn Cline says she is embracing a relaxed, friendship-filled summer while still holding onto one big goal — a European getaway with her closest friends.

The 28-year-old actress says she is “determined” to organize a Euro summer trip, though coordinating schedules among her friends has proven difficult.

“My friends, we are so committed to the idea of going on vacation, like a Euro girl vacation together, but our schedules are, you know, we’re here, there and everywhere,” she said.

“Gathering us all together and getting us all on a plane at the same time to the same place is sometimes difficult, but I’m determined to do it this summer.”

In the meantime, Cline has been leaning into a more home-centered routine, spending much of her time hosting friends and enjoying casual summer gatherings.

“We’ve been really into grilling,” she said, adding that steak and branzino have become favorites among her group. However, she joked that she is not always the one doing the cooking.

“When I say grilling, I’ve been really into letting someone who knows how to grill, grill for me, and I provide everything else,” she said. “I am the bringer of ice, provider of drinks, and the mixer of salads.”

Describing her ideal summer day, Cline said she prefers simple moments shared with friends at home.

“My perfect summer day is: turn my phone off and have everyone just come to the house,” she said.

“Have a charcuterie board and sandwiches out, have people in and out of the house, in the pool or outside in the sun, and just enjoying each other’s company with good food, good drinks.”

She added that she is “definitely a homebody” who enjoys creating a welcoming space for her close circle.

Alongside her summer plans, Cline is also preparing for the final season of Outer Banks, which premieres August 20 on Netflix. She plays Sarah Cameron in the hit series, which she says will conclude with “a pretty epic conclusion.”

“I really, really hope that people are excited for one last ride with the Pogues,” she said.

“I know it’s the last season, but I hope it’s a show that people will be able to go back and rewatch and enjoy over and over again.”

Cline also recently appeared in Sabrina Carpenter’s music video for “House Tour,” which also featured Margaret Qualley.

She described the experience as a celebration of friendship and creativity.

“It felt like just two full days of us running around and capturing girlhood,” she said. “She is so supremely talented. I’m so lucky to be her friend and to watch her work
