Princess Iman of Jordan announces second pregnancy
Jordanian royals celebrated after learning that Princess Iman of Jordan is currently expecting her second child
Jordanian royal Princess Iman of Jordan announced she was expecting her second child with her husband, Venezuelan-born financier Jameel Alexander. The 29-year-old royal, who is the eldest daughter of King Abdullah and Queen Rania, previously welcomed her first daughter, Amina, in February 2025. The family milestone confirmed that the royal household would expand, though official titles will likely not be granted to the upcoming infant due to traditional patrilineal succession rules within the House of Hashim.
Instagram served as the platform for the official announcement, where Queen Rania shared her congratulations alongside a photograph of the expectant parents. The Queen expressed immense gratitude online, noting that the royal grandchildren club was growing and that the family felt overjoyed for the parents and their daughter, who would soon become a big sister. The accompanying digital photograph captured the couple standing in a shaded garden while their young daughter reached down to touch the pregnancy bump.
The upcoming arrival will mark the third grandchild for King Abdullah and Queen Rania, who share four children. Their growing family circle already includes a grandchild born to Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa in August 2024, alongside young Amina. The first child of Princess Iman of Jordan was born just one month after the Queen publicly revealed the initial pregnancy to international followers last year, with her name translating from Arabic to mean honest, faithful, and safe one.
Princess Iman of Jordan originally married her venture capitalist husband in March 2023 during a high-profile royal ceremony. The bride wore a white Dior gown featuring a lace veil accompanied by a sparkling Chaumet tiara for the traditional nuptials. Although the family continues to grow, royal regulations dictate that the style of the House of Hashim traditionally passes from father to son, meaning the couple's children do not inherit official Jordanian royal titles.
