Beyoncé and Jay-Z's East Hampton estate was damaged after a man allegedly drove through the property's security gates, with police saying there is currently no evidence the music superstars were deliberately targeted.

Authorities said the 63-year-old driver appeared to be "confused" and did not make any threats or mention the couple before being taken into custody.

According to police, the incident occurred at the couple's seven-bedroom waterfront estate in East Hampton, which Beyoncé and Jay-Z purchased in 2017.

Investigators told Page Six that the man has no criminal history and may have been experiencing a medical issue at the time.

"He has no criminal history and he seemed confused at the scene and after the arrest. He did not make any threats or mention names of the residents," Detective/Sergeant Jennifer Dunn said.

"It could just be chance he picked that house if he was having a medical issue."

A police report obtained by the outlet alleged the Bronx man drove "at a high rate of speed" up the driveway before failing to stop at the closed mechanical gates, causing significant damage.

Officers arrested the driver at the scene before he was transported to Stony Brook Hospital after complaining of pain.

Police also impounded the vehicle and completed criminal trespass and criminal mischief affidavits as the investigation continues.

Authorities said the man had reportedly stopped at another nearby property before arriving at Beyoncé and Jay-Z's home, where he allegedly asked for a woman by name before leaving after being told she did not live there.

The homeowner reportedly told investigators the man also appeared confused.

Providing an update on the case, Dunn said police found no evidence suggesting the couple had been intentionally targeted.

"No weapons found, no notes found, no direct threats made and no direct mention of residents of the house, so we are not sure he even knew who lived in that house at this point," she said.

The incident comes as Beyoncé and Jay-Z continue to make headlines following the rapper's recent three-night residency at New York's Yankee Stadium, which featured appearances by Beyoncé, Blue Ivy Carter, Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Eminem and Teyana Taylor.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
