Apple increased subscription prices for Apple Music and several Apple One plans in the U.S. and other markets, citing rising licensing costs as the reason behind the latest price hike.

The new pricing took effect on Friday, marking Apple Music's first subscription increase since October 2022, as per Deadline.

Apple Music plans get price increase

Apple Music's Individual plan now costs $11.99 per month, up from $10.99.

The Family plan has increased from $16.99 to $19.99 per month, while the Student plan now costs $6.99, up from $5.99.

"As a result of rising licensing costs, Apple Music is increasing its subscription price beginning today," Apple said in a statement.

Apple One bundle prices also rise

Apple also raised prices for select Apple One bundles that include Apple Music.

The Individual Apple One plan remains unchanged at $19.95 per month.

However, the Family plan now costs $27.95, up from $25.95, while the Premier tier has increased to $39.95 from $37.95.

Apple Music remains cheaper than Spotify

The latest increase follows Spotify's price hike earlier this year, when the streaming platform raised its Premium subscription from $11.99 to $12.99 per month.

Despite the increase, Apple Music's Individual plan remains priced below Spotify's Premium subscription.

Apple continues adjusting subscription pricing

Apple has periodically increased prices across its subscription services in recent years.

In August 2025, the company raised the price of Apple TV+ to $12.99 per month from $9.99. Before that, Apple TV+ last increased its subscription price in October 2023.

Apple One bundles combine services including Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, iCloud+, Apple Fitness+ and Apple News+, depending on the subscription tier.
