Kelly Osbourne reflects on ‘endless ache’ after Ozzy Osbourne’s death
Kelly Osbourne reflects on life and loss ahead of Ozzy Osbourne’s death anniversary
Kelly Osbourne opened up about the lasting impact of losing her father, Ozzy Osbourne, saying she not only mourns the rock legend but also the person she was before his death.
The television personality shared an emotional message on Instagram ahead of the first anniversary of Ozzy's death, reflecting on how grief has changed her life.
Kelly reflects on life after loss
"I don't just mourn the father I lost. I mourn the soul I was before death taught my heart its own name," Kelly wrote.
She described grief as something that changes a person forever, saying it steals "the light from your laughter" and leaves people trying to recognise who they have become.
Kelly added that the deepest pain is "waking each day longing for the version of yourself who died with them."
'Endless ache' of grief
The 41-year-old said grief is a feeling that cannot truly be understood until it is experienced.
"It cannot be explained, borrowed or imagined," she wrote. "You only understand its endless ache when you've stood in the unbearable silence, carrying a love that has nowhere left to go."
Kelly also admitted she misses who she was before losing her father.
"I miss who I was before my daddy died. Before my heart became a home for absence. Before every memory became both a blessing and a wound," she wrote.
Tribute ahead of anniversary
Kelly concluded her tribute by writing that some losses divide life into two versions of a person: "The one you were before and the one left behind."
She ended the post with the hashtag "#LoveIsEternal #OzzyForever."
Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76 following a public battle with Parkinson's disease. His family later announced that Birmingham would mark the first anniversary of his death with the inaugural "Ozzy Day" celebration honouring his life and legacy.
