Kacey Musgraves cancels three dates on upcoming Middle of Nowhere tour
The country star removed concerts in Chicago, Boston and Brooklyn from her upcoming tour schedule
Kacey Musgraves has cancelled three dates on her upcoming Middle of Nowhere tour, including the opening-night concert in Chicago, though the singer has not provided a reason for the cancellations.
The affected shows include the tour kickoff scheduled for Aug. 20 in Chicago, a performance in Boston on Aug. 29 and a Brooklyn, New York, concert set for September 2.
Fans who purchased tickets for the cancelled performances were informed that refunds would be automatically issued, according to a cancellation notice shared online by a ticket holder.
The cancelled cities were originally scheduled to host multiple performances, and alternate dates remain available through Musgraves' official website.
The Grammy-winning artist, 37, has not publicly commented on the cancellations. A representative for Musgraves declined to provide further details.
Musgraves first announced the North American Middle of Nowhere tour in April, with planned stops across cities including Toronto, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Nashville, Atlanta, Austin, Salt Lake City and Los Angeles before concluding in Seattle on Oct. 27.
The tour supports her sixth studio album, Middle of Nowhere, which arrived on May 1 and features collaborations with artists including Gregory Alan Isakov, Billy Strings, Miranda Lambert and Willie Nelson.
Speaking about the album, Musgraves said the project was inspired by a period of personal growth and independence.
"The bulk of this record was made during the longest single period of my life," she previously shared, explaining that she discovered comfort in being alone and embracing uncertainty.
The Middle of Nowhere tour was set to feature opening acts including Midland, Flatland Cavalry, Carter Faith, Estevie, Charles Wesley Godwin, William Beckmann, Gabriella Rose and The Brudi Brothers.
